Eat. Pray. Love.: Team Outing at Island French Resort

One of the core values of Convergys where we work is Grow As A Team. Team outing is the most considered way on how to build good relationship within a team.

After series of discussion and consideration on where to held our team building we finally decided to enjoy it in Island French Resort located at Baybay Tambo, Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte.

So, after our work shift on the day we planned the event, we went directly to the resort not to waste the moment to bond with the team.

The place is not that big and not recommended for large gatherings e.g. 100 people that involves outdoor activities. Group of 5, 10 or 15 will do. Breathe fresh air as area is mostly decorated with flowers and plants. We are a bit annoyed about the bird that they displayed near the cottage near the pool as it screams from time to time. Two swimming pool area are available: one for children (2 ft) and for adults (5 ft).

It was already booked and planned in advance so we were unable to ask for further assistance from their staffs so I cannot comment on how well they treat guests.

We arrived around 5pm, so people who took charge on cooking immediately prepared the grilling area to cook for our dinner while others prepared the venue for our games.

We strive hard to achieve our goals at work and so far we were, if not on Top 1, always part of Top 3 on overall ranking that is because the effort of our Team Leader to mold us better and especially each team member that promises to take care of each other.

HOW TO GET THERE

From Davao City go to Samal Ferry Terminal in Barangay Sasa. Take a barge to Island Garden City of Samal terminal.

Fare is Php 10 per head.
Time of travel: 15-20 minutes.

Outside Samal terminal there are already drivers who you can ask to take you anywhere in Samal. So you can either take a tricycle or motorcycle/habalhabal to take you directly to Island French Resort.

Fare is Php 30 per head for tricycles (Max of 4-5 heads per tricycle) and Php 40 per head for habal-habal (Max of 2 heads per habal-habal).
Time of travel: 15-20 minutes.
Island Fench Resort is 75 meters from the main road yet habal-habal and tricycle drivers will take you to the main gate of the resort.

In going back to the Samal Ferry Terminal, you can walk to the main road and wait for a tricycle driver there who can take you back to the terminal of Samal.
