The Tim Tebow Foundation has partnered with CURE International to open the Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City, Philippines. The hospital specializes in pediatric orthopedic care and features the first Timmy’s Playroom outside of the United States.
The Tebow CURE Hospital provides pediatric orthopedic surgical care in Davao City in the Philippines, helping children with treatable conditions like clubfoot and spinal deformities. The official grand opening took place on May 1, 2015.
Construction of CURE Philippines began on the island of Mindanao in February 2012. Executive Director Leron Lehman arrived in 2013 to oversee the completion of the building and the hiring of the remaining personnel. The hospital began treating patients in December 2014.
The Tebow CURE Hospital, built and operated by CURE International, is also one of the primary outreach initiatives of theTim Tebow Foundation. one of the major sources of funding for the project. “I was born in the Philippines, and my parents have been missionaries to that area for over 30 years. The Philippines have always had a special place in my heart,” Tebow said. “I’m excited to be a part of this hospital that will bring physical and spiritual healing to thousands of children who would not otherwise have access to care.”

The People Behind the Event
TABULA RASA
Tabula Rasa is a group of artists from Davao and surrounding area who aims to promote the art scene in Mindanao. The members of the group are Daryl Descallar, Brando Cedeño and Dinky Munda.
Daryl Descallar
Daryl is a graduate of Fine Arts Major in Advertising arts from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.
- a freelance artist serving companies to meet their creative communication, graphic designs for packaging and other design needs
- is into painting, freehand illustration, photography, space design, furniture and decor design
- travels in Europe, Australia, Middle East, Africa, China, Japan, other Southeast Asian countries and the United States of America as a result of meeting requirements of his clients
Daryl believes that the power of creative visual communication can touch lives and transform world views.
He hopes to contribute in filling the earth with beauty, love and peace like the desire of God that "The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" - Habakkuk 2:14
Brando Cedeño
Brando was born in Davao City on January 18, 1968 and has joined numerous collaborative exhibits since 1995.
- presently works on both sculptures and paintings
- has developed and has been mastering his style of creating his sculpture works
- wildlife subjects particularly horses, eagles and lions that exude power with graceful elegance captivates his works
- he discovers endless intrigue in emotions and anatomy in human sculptures which he finds it challenging to capture their presence and character, emphasizing muscle, energy and movement
- his work ranges from small to life-size pieces and commissions for private and corporate clients, government agencies and religious institutions
Dinky Munda
A full time artist at the age of 71 after retiring from a prestigious and high paying corporate lifestyle both here in the Philippines and the United States of America.
- graduated elementary and high school in Ateneo de Davao and got an AFS scholarship at Bakersfield High School, California, USA
- finished AB Humanities and Philosophy course in Ateneo de Manila when he went back to the Philippines
- earned his Masters Degree in Financial Management at Santa Clara University, California, USA
- became the Finance Executive of INTEL Corp. in Santa Clara, California, USA
- served as the VP/GM of Pearl farm Beach Resort in Samal Island, Davao del Norte
- became a Professor at Philippine Women's College teaching business management
- has his own business designing furniture and accessories called Bay woodcraft
- has traveled extensively in Asia, Europe and USA to visit major museums and galleries around the world
- won the Print making category of the well known Shell Art contest
MINDANAWON ARTIST
Alex Alagon
Alex Alagon is a self-taught visual artist. His paintings vary from nature to portraits in realism to abstract where he uses different mediums.
Before immersing into the world of art, he was a banker, an elected public official, a tri-media personality and a businessman. His joining the art scene was highly influenced by the renowned speaker, Dr. Myles Monroe, who said that God placed in everyone a gift of talent that should not go down to the graves but must be developed and shared to the world.
Though already successful in what he does, Alex decided to become a full-time visual artist as he believes that is his calling and purpose in life. Though new in the art scene, he has already made various art exhibits, classes and workshops to the less fortunate children. His artworks have already reached throughout the country and abroad.
He is currently the President of Durian Artist Inc., a Davao-based group of visual artists.

Ega Carreon
Ega Carreon is a multi -awarded International artist. He has exhibited his works in New York, New Jersey and Washington D.C.. He represented the Philippines as winner of the Asia Freeman Painting Competition in Vermont, USA in November 2000. He also traveled to Europe and had a solo exhibition in Berlin, Germany as part of Filipino Week celebration last September 2010. In October 2014, he represented the Philippines as Artist-In-Residency in Can Serrat International residency program in El Bruc, Barcelona, Spain.
Jane Ramos
Jane Ramos is a Fine Arts graduate of the Ford Academy of the Arts. She taught art workshops since 1989 but has served as a full time minister of the word in South Cotabato from 1990-2005. She came back to Davao and realized that the artist within is still thriving. Jane started painting again and held her solo exhibit in 2012. She also joined numerous group exhibits with the Panan-aw Artists since and conducted art workshops here in Davao and other nearby towns and cities. Jane was a 2013 Shell Art Competition finalist. She is now an art teacher at Ford Academy.
Victor Dumaguing
Understanding the roots of our culture, live the values that teaches our ancestors in Mindanao, and the optimistic character that amidst conflicts are the themes that Victor want to show in his paintings.
Jose C. Tionko
Jose Tionko started painting in 1980 and had solo exhibits in Victoria Plaza and in Davao Museum. She also joins numerous group exhibits with Davao artists. She published a coffee table book in 215 with paintings of St. Theresa of Jesus to commemorate her 500 cemetery celebration. Her art medium is oil on canvas and her subjects are floral, landscape and figures.
Bebot Santa Cruz
Bebot Santa Cruz is a palawanon. He is a congenital mountaineer and has been to the peak of most Philippine mountains. He explored ocean floors, learned about the water world, joined task Force Pawikan in 1986 as a conservation officer of El Nido, and led the movement to convert the Tubbataha Reefs into a National Marine Park. He is a dedicated environmentalist currently based in Mindanao to pursue more environmental projects, among which he has been appointed Chairman of the Department of Environment and Ecology of the United Bangsamoro Sultanates and Royalties of the Philippines, a non-government organization, and later became a member of the Board of Trustees. Just entering the middle age, Santa Cruz feels that painting, as a tool, can help further his mission on the protection of the natural environment as it can reach larger audiences and awaken awareness on a wider scale.
